One-on-One Physical Therapy in Scarsdale, NY

An injury shouldn’t keep you from the sports, activities, and life you enjoy. Working directly with a Board-Certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist ensures your care is built around your specific body mechanics, goals, and recovery stage.

An injury can set you back from the activities, sports, and life you love—but the right physical therapy can help you move forward with confidence. Working one-on-one with an experienced, board-certified orthopedic physical therapist allows your treatment to be tailored to your specific injury, movement patterns, goals, and stage of recovery.

Manual therapy can be an important part of this process, helping address joint and soft-tissue restrictions, improve mobility, reduce pain, and prepare the body for progressive strengthening and movement.

At Recoup, our therapists combine hands-on orthopedic treatment with individualized exercise and education to address the underlying problem—not simply the symptoms—so you can recover efficiently and return to the activities that matter to you.

Myofascial Decompression (Think cupping + movement)

Myofascial decompression (MFD) is a manual therapy tool to decompress the adhered tissues that have the issues: think of layers of a sandwich separating in order to allow better flow and movement.

MFD utilizes curved cups to improve myofascial mobility during problematic movement patterns, and to literally get to the root of the restriction or compensation related to injury, during the specific movement pattern that causes pain.

Sport-Specific Assessment & Corrective Exercise Program

Identifying movement limitations, strength deficits, and biomechanical inefficiencies before they become injuries can be critical to helping athletes perform at their best and stay on the field. Dr. Hwang brings more than 25 years of orthopedic and sports rehabilitation experience to individualized athlete assessment, injury rehabilitation, and performance-focused physical therapy.

By evaluating how an athlete moves, loads, and responds to sport-specific demands, Dr. Hwang can identify areas that may limit performance or increase injury risk and develop a personalized plan to address them.

Whether an athlete is recovering from an injury, preparing to return to competition, or simply looking to improve strength, movement quality, and injury resilience, a comprehensive sports performance assessment can provide valuable insight.

Athletes benefit from understanding why they are moving the way they are, what may be holding them back, and what they can do to become stronger, more efficient, and more confident in their sport.
